Frequently Asked Questions

What is the typical output capacity of Jwell's ABS refrigerator sheet line? -

The dedicated ABS/HIPS refrigerator sheet extrusion line delivers 1,000-3,000 kg/h output, scalable through screw diameter (90-200 mm) and downstream equipment sizing. These high-output configurations have been validated across over 300 installations in refrigerator factories operated by Haier, Midea, Beko, Samsung, LG, Whirlpool, and Electrolux.

For converters entering the ABS sheet market or producing lower volumes, Jwell also offers a standard configuration at 300-600 kg/h suitable for automotive, luggage, and industrial sheet applications.

What ABS sheet thicknesses and material grades does this line process? +

The line produces ABS sheet from 0.5 to 6.0 mm thickness, processing standard ABS, heat-resistant ABS (continuous service temperature to 105°C), flame-retardant ABS (UL 94 V-0 rated), HIPS (high-impact polystyrene), and multi-layer structures including ABS/PMMA and ABS/ASA for UV-resistant cap layers. Material changeover is managed through the Siemens PLC’s recipe storage with calibrated parameters for each material grade.

How does Jwell control sheet thickness automatically? +

Jwell’s refrigerator-grade line uses a three-layer thickness automation system:

1. Online thickness gauge (beta or X-ray) continuously measures the sheet profile

2. Automatic T-die with individual thermal bolts adjusts die lip opening at each measurement position

3. Servo-adjusted roll gap maintains overall sheet gauge with 0.01 mm precision

This combined die + roll gap automation maintains thickness tolerance within ±1.5% across the full web width, verified by continuous thickness profiling during FAT.

What pre-drying does ABS require before extrusion? +

ABS absorbs 0.3-0.5% moisture from ambient air and requires drying to below 0.05% moisture content before extrusion to prevent surface splay and molecular weight degradation. Jwell recommends a desiccant dryer with honeycomb rotor achieving -40°C dew point, 3-4 hours residence time at 80-90°C. The extruder’s vented barrel (33:1 L/D) with atmospheric vent in the decompression zone provides a secondary moisture removal safeguard. For the 3,000 kg/h refrigerator configuration, a 12,000-liter dryer capacity is recommended.

Does Jwell provide global installation and after-sales service? +

Yes. Jwell has over 20 years of overseas project experience covering installations in 120+ countries, including high-risk regions. The Global Engineer Certification System authorizes trained engineers worldwide to install, commission, and service Jwell extrusion equipment with full manufacturer warranty coverage. Nearly 50% of Jwell orders are exported.

Critical spare parts (screws, barrels, roll bearings, heater bands, PLC modules) are maintained in Jwell’s Shanghai bonded warehouse for 48-hour international express dispatch. Remote diagnostic support via WeChat/WhatsApp responds within 2 hours during business hours (GMT+8).
